WHAT ARE ACNE SCARS?
Acne scars are permanent irregularities on the surface of skin resulting from inflammatory changes caused by acne.
During the course of active acne and its subsequent healing response, there is destruction of normal collagen and the formation of abnormal collagen fibers. This may result in eventual formation of indentations on the skin surface, or less commonly, raised bumps and ridges. The likelihood of scar formation tends to correlate with the severity of acne.

WHAT TO EXPECT?
PRE TREATMENT
The doctor will thoroughly evaluate the types of scars you have and also understand your goals and concerns to determine the suitable acne scar treatment for you. RF Micro-needling therapy for treating acne scars is a process that is done in outpatient mode. It usually takes between 15 to 60minutes to complete. The procedure's duration depends on factors such as the extent of skin damage and the severity of the scars.
A numbing cream will be applied prior to treatment to minimise any potential discomfort. There can be a pulling or tingling sensation every time energy is delivered, which will vary according to the depth of tissue and area of the face being treated. RF microneedling is very well tolerated by almost all patients, regardless of age, gender, and skin type. The sensation is usually described as comfortable with light pressure and a tingling or prickly sensation on the skin. There is usually little to no pain experienced. DURING TREATMENT

POST TREATMENT
