Ellanse Filler (少女针) | What You Need To Know Guide Price [2024]

Maintaining healthy skin can become trickier as we get older, and wrinkles and crow’s feet are more likely to set in. The reason behind this is a loss of collagen and elasticity, meaning that it’s harder for the skin to bounce back from all the mini muscle contractions that happen day to day.

Let's take a look at how Ellanse filler combats the impact of ageing. Versatile and long-lasting, there’s a number of benefits to using Ellanse Singapore and we’ve put together a guide on everything you need to know about this procedure.

Question 1:

WHAT IS ELLANSE FILLER (少女针)?

Ellanse filler is a collagen stimulating cosmetic filler used to restore volume lost due to the ageing process. It can lift and sculpt targeted areas of the face, particularly where there is hollowing or volume loss.

ELLANSE 少女针
Dermal Fillers for Natural Collagen Stimulation. Ellansé is made of polycaprolactone (PCL) microspheres, mixed with a carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) gel carrier.

The gel delivers immediate results, while the PCL microspheres act as a biostimulator, to ramp up production of your own collagen over the next three months. This improves skin elasticity and creates a more youthful appearance.

Question 2:

HOW DOES ELLANSE FILLER (少女针) WORK?

Ellanse filler is composed of polycaprolactone (PCL) microspheres suspended in a carrier gel. When injected, the gel provides an immediate but temporary filling effect, while the PCL microspheres contribute to long‐term volume by stimulating new collagen production. As the carrier gel is absorbed in the first 6‐8 weeks, the loss in volume from the carrier gel is gradually replaced by buildup of collagen induced by the PCL.

Ellanse is a medical aesthetic procedure, that is administered with the use of syringes injected directly into your skin. As Ellanse enters your skin, its active ingredients work fibroblasts to stimulate collagen production.

Question 3:

WHAT IS ELLANSE USED FOR?

Ellanse is used in multiple areas of the body, including:

  • Cheeks
  • Forehead
  • Jawline
  • Chin
  • Nose
  • Hands
  • Temple and brow
  • Lower face

It’s an effective treatment against many types of conditions, such as nasolabial folds, wrinkles, sunken cheeks, a distorted jawline and much more.

Question 4:

ELLANSE TYPES

Ellanse types of fillers as follows (information from manufacturers):

  1. Ellanse-S – This type of filler lasts for 12 months or one year.
  2. Ellanse-M – This type of filler lasts for 24 months or two years.
  3. Ellanse-L – This type of filler lasts for 36 months or three years.
  4. Ellanse-E – This type of filler lasts for 48 months or four years.

Patients can choose the longevity of their fillers accordingly. Commonly used are Ellanse S and Ellanse M

Question 5:

HOW LONG DOES ELLANSE FILLER LAST?

Once the procedure is finished, you’ll benefit from long-lasting results of between 2 – 4 years depending on the type of Ellanse filler used.

Question 6:

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR ELLANSE TO WORK?

You’ll see immediate results in terms of more volume, improved facial contour, or smoothing of deep folds.

Over the next three months, Ellansé will continue to promote collagen stimulation, as your natural collagen production ramps up.

Question 7:

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ELLANSE FILLER IN SINGAPORE?

Benefits of Ellanse injection as follows:

  • Combines immediate volume replacement with longer-term stimulation of collagen production.
  • The newly produced collagen helps to rejuvenate and restore the skin from within, and provides long-lasting results.
  • Restores a youthful appearance by providing immediate facial volume to areas which have been affected by age related volume loss such as the cheeks, temples, forehead and chin. It stimulates collagen to provide a long lasting and natural effect, with firming and tightening of the skin.

Question 8:

WHAT ARE ELLANSE SIDE EFFECTS?

Side effects of Ellanse filler as follows:

  • Swelling and redness
  • Pain and stinging sensations around the injection area
  • Bleeding at the injection spot
  • Numbness or itching

These side effects will usually go away within a matter of hours or days. But if they last for longer, then we advise you seek medical help.

It’s also important to note that you shouldn’t have the treatment if you have a history of allergic reactions, auto-immune conditions, skin inflammation, are receiving steroid treatment or if you’re pregnant.

Question 9:

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF ELLANSE FILLER?

(1) Longer lasting than other hyaluronic acid fillers

Because Ellanse filler helps boost your own collagen supply, you will see the visible effects for much longer than with HA-based dermal fillers. Typically, dermal fillers last between 6-12 months, depending on various factors. Ellanse, however, creates a lift that can last for up to 2 years.

(2) Better volume over time

For the same reasons as above, you’ll notice that your skin stays smooth and supported for much longer than with other dermal fillers.

(3) More cost effective in the long run

Because your results last longer, it stands to reason that you will need less treatments over the years. This makes Ellanse filler a more cost effective option when treating some skin concerns.

Question 10:

CAN ELLANSE BE DISSOLVED? CAN ELLANSE BE REVERSED?

Ellanse cannot be dissolved once it has been injected, unlike its HA-based counterparts. With this in mind, many patients prefer to start with a hyaluronic acid dermal filler first to ensure they are satisfied with the end look before moving onto Ellanse.

Unlike hyaluronic acid-based fillers like Juvederm and Restylane, Ellansé can’t be dissolved early with hyaluronidase if you don’t like your result or have a complication.

If you’re not happy with your result or develop lumps, you’ll have to live with it until the filler is reabsorbed.

Question 11:

IS ELLANSE SAFE?

Ellanse has received approval for cosmetic use by Singapore’s HSA and Europe’s CE. The contents of ellanse- Polycaprolactone (PCL) and Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) are classified by US FDA as Generally Regarded as Safe.

Common injection-related side effects include inflammation, discomfort, mild swelling, or bruising (all of which can usually be covered by makeup). Most people have only mild reactions that resolve within a day or two.

Severe side effects are extremely rare, but they are possible, if your body reacts to the ingredients or if your treatment is performed by an unqualified injector. Some patients develop lumps that last as long as the filler does, but the impact is aesthetic rather than a safety concern.

All injectable fillers also carry a small risk of vascular occlusion, which happens when a provider accidentally injects filler into a blood vessel. This creates a blockage that can lead to tissue death. It’s a rare complication, but because this filler can’t be dissolved with hyaluronidase, it’s important to be treated by an experienced Dermatologist or Aesthetic Doctor with deep expertise in injectables and facial anatomy.

Question 12:

ELLANSE SINGPORE REVIEW: IS THERE A DOWNSIDE TO ELLANSE FILLER?

Downside to Ellanse Fillers as follows:

While Ellanse has many benefits, there are some considerations that need to be made before opting for treatment.

  • Ellanse is not dissolvable
Unlike its HA-based counterparts, Ellanse filler can’t be dissolved once it has been injected. With this in mind, many patients prefer to start with a hyaluronic acid dermal filler first to ensure they are satisfied with the end look before moving onto Ellanse.
  • Unsuitable for some areas
As mentioned, Ellanse filler isn’t suitable for areas where a dermal filler can’t go deep enough into the layers of the skin, such as the under eye area, eyelid or lips. However, Ellanse can be paired with other dermal fillers if you would like an all over facelift. Your aesthetic doctor will be able to advise you on how best to approach your treatment.
  • Doesn’t hydrate the skin
Ellanse filler doesn’t hydrate the skin the way hyaluronic acid does, so you don’t get the same dewy glow.

Question 13:

ELLANSE VS DERMAL FILLERS: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

Difference between Ellanse and Dermal Fillers are as follows:

Ellanse is different thanother dermal fillers because it’s made from microspheres which dissolve in a unique way. When it’s injected into the body, it goes through a reabsorption process where the compounds break down gradually.

Throughout this process, the microspheres maintain their original volume until every molecule has been dissolved. This also applies to the longevity of the treatment, as results are dependent on the number of molecules within the spheres.

So, the more molecules there are, the longer the results will last.
