At Imago Aesthetic Clinic, we carry a variety of laser machines to enable our doctor to customize your treatment and to give you the best results.
Before the treatment, our doctor will go through a consultation with you to understand your medical history, your desired results, and to go through any questions you may have.
The laser treatment is performed by our doctor and takes about 15 minutes. Prior to the procedure, we will cleanse the areas treated. Topical anaesthesia can be provided as well to help you feel comfortable during the treatment.
During the treatment, you may feel some prickly and warm sensation. Immediately after, there may be a slight
redness. For skin resurfacing CO2 lasers, there will be a downtime of about 3-5 days.
Otherwise, you may return back to most normal activities, except for sun-tanning, exfoliative/chemical facial
scrubs. To enhance the effect of the laser, it is best to apply sunblock and ensure adequate hydration of the skin.
Depending on your skin condition and desired results, our doctor will advise a suitable treatment and maintenance laser program for you. Some clients may see visible improvement
with 1-3 sessions, although for some pigmentation/tattoos, it may take more sessions to obtain a satisfactory endpoint.

In general, laser treatments direct concentrated pulses of light into the skin. Depending on the type of laser, the laser treatment can
either:
(1) Penetrate the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production, disperse pigment, as well as reduce fines and wrinkles
(2) Gently resurface the outer layers of your skin to promote the growth of new skin, resulting in improved skin texture and tone, along with the reduction of skin imperfections.
Prior to the procedure, an experienced therapist will help you apply a local anaesthetic to your treatment area.
During the procedure, as our doctor directs the laser handpiece over your skin, you will most likely feel a prickly sensation. Most patients find this tolerable and experience minimal discomfort after their procedures.
Our doctor and his team of therapists will take steps to ensure that your experience is as comfortable as possible.
Most patients report experiencing redness immediately following the procedure. However, there is no downtime for most laser treatments, and patients are able to return to their daily activities following the procedure.
For stronger laser procedures, patients might experience skin peeling a few days after the treatment, to reveal new and improved skin. While you will be able to resume your daily activities after the treatment, our doctor advises avoiding high-impact exercises and direct exposure to sunlight for the first 2 days to allow for optimum skin healing.
Downtime is expected to be up to a week. You may wish to schedule your procedure for stronger laser procedures a few weeks before any important social events.
Sun protection measures are strongly advised after all laser treatments.
Most laser procedures are suitable for all skin types. Some laser treatments may not be suitable for patients with darker skin tones, as they could be at risk of unwanted pigmentation changes.
If you are not suitable for such laser treatments, our doctor will be able to recommend other treatments for your skin type that suits your needs.
