While both HIFU and surgical face lifts interact with the SMAS layer, they do so in different ways. HIFU uses ultrasound energy to target this layer, aiming to stimulate collagen production non-invasively. In contrast, surgical face lifts involve direct surgical alteration of the SMAS layer.
